We strive for the responsible and professional journalism; our mission is to protect citizens of Serbia from misuse in the print media and to raise the quality of journalism in Serbia. We’ll act in accordance with the Code of Journalists of Serbia and our own conscience, In compliance with the law, and under the motto: Fast, free, fair!

The Press Council is an independent, self-regulatory body that brings together publishers, owners of newspapers and professional journalists. It was established to monitor compliance with the Code of Journalists of Serbia in the print media and to resolve complaints from individuals and institutions on the content of the print media. The responsibilities of the Council is also mediation between damaged individuals and institutions, and journalists desk as well is making of public reprimands on violations of ethical standards established by the Code of Journalists of Serbia. The Press Council is also engaged in training for compliance with the Code of journalists and works on strengthening the influence of media in Serbia
